My Kitties

I watch you as you’re sleeping,
A precious smile upon your face.
What could it be you’re dreaming?
Did that silly mouse give chase?

I laugh as you go charging by,
Hunting prey only you can see.
Leaping, spinning, so intent.
How wonderful to be that carefree.

I cherish you as you snuggle close,
Purring soft tunes of bliss and love.
Trusting eyes blinking gently,
Deepening our life-long bond.

Each morning I awaken to you.
Every evening you greet me home.
Selfless and self-confident, too.
Unlike any love I’ve ever known.

You rely on me for basic things,
Which I happily provide.
You bring me joy in countless ways,
And fill my heart with pride.

I found this when I was cleaning up some old papers. I sure do love my kitties.

Purrs,

Aunt Stacey
